So what are they?

Box beams are hollow wooden beams used as decorative pieces throughout your home. We take the faces of a full beam to create a hollow version that is a fraction of the weight, but just as beautiful. They’re perfect to install on your ceiling and in spots that a full beam would be too heavy. You can also use them to cover up exposed joists and other features that are just an eyesore.

Our real wood box beams are completely customizable in size, species, and texture. From hand-hewn softwoods to resawn fir, whatever you want, we can make it happen.

How Box Beams Are Born

Every reclaimed box beam starts with the source wood. Typically, we use thin slices cut from the outside of a solid beam. First, we process and clean the material. Once it’s ready, we measure out the slabs to whatever size you need. Then we assemble the pieces by hand with a precision miter lock joint to create a hollow wooden beam.

Have a few solid beams you’re trying to replicate? No problem. We can match the size and style of whatever is already installed in your home. You can alternate between solid and box beams without anyone (even you) being able to tell the difference. Well… except us. But we’re the professionals.
